And how is what they’re saying even Fridge Logic? 8T For it to be Fridge Logic that would imply that there’s something wrong with the idea of male Gardevoir. But there’s not. Just because Gallade was added doesn’t mean that now Male Gardevoir are obsolete. I don’t see how this person can even come to that conclusion. It only makes sense if you’re a sexist pig.

Besides that, this person really just needs to shut the fuck up about this issue. I don’t understand how it’s STILL an issue. After all these years. seriously. Even IF you don’t like it, and you disagree with it, who gives a fuck? No one cares that your little fap fantasies are ruined by the thought of a fictional video game creature being male as well as female.

Wait, but isn’t this person saying people should be more receptive to treatment for pedophiles so they can stop being pedophiles? It doesn’t sound like they’re encouraging it.

IDK but the way I see it they’re being sympathetic toward pedophiles and being that I was almost in that place it just grosses me out ajdfjsake

ok. I actually have to weigh in on this. I have a dear friend whom I’ve lived with before who is a pedophile. And though it’s not a secret, I haven’t exactly shared this with everyone, I’ve been sexually abused as a child, so I think I have at least a little bit of my own view on this issue.

First off, I’d like to say that I am not, I am not, defending Child Molesters in any way.

Because there is a difference between someone being a pedophile, and someone being a child molester. I’ve had several deep discussions with this friend of mine, and I’ve come to a few personal stances.

Not all pedophiles are Child Molesters. Not all Pedophiles WILL Molest a child. Not all Pedophiles would have sex with a child, even given the chance that they wouldn’t get caught, and under the impression that it was “consensual”. Just because someone is a pedophile, doesn’t make them a sick, evil monster.

Now, I have no love for Child Molesters. People who have actively abused children sexually. But I also recognize that pedophilia is a sickness. Is it an orientation? Honestly, I don’t know. The fact that someone could claim to be born attracted to children doesn’t really make sense to me. Either that or I don’t want it to make sense to me.

I honestly don’t know where I was going with this…  but I don’t think you should hate “Pedophiles”. Yes, when someone molests a child, it is a horrible, despicable act. And we have laws in place to punish them. And I believe they should be punished to the full extent of the law for their actions.

But I also believe that they need help. Not hate. Even the ones who do abuse a child. And though this won’t be a popular opinion, the fact is that it’s still a crime that hurts someone. Just like assault. Just like Murder. Just like Arson, or rape, or any other crime that hurts another human being.

But as a society, we have a tendency to throw away anyone who’s committed a crime in general. Rather than try to help them, because something’s wrong with them, their mind, their thinking, we’d be more comfortable if they just died in a ditch. That’s the easy way out. Trust me. Wishing someone who hurt you would just vanish off the face of the earth and never hurt you again is so much easier than hoping they get help, and that they become a better person, and that MAYBE they might end up helping far more people than they ever hurt. Yeah that’s a gamble, I guess… but still. That’s my personal opinion.

And yes. Sometimes, I wish the person who hurt me would just die. I do. But I’m also a decent enough person that, if they got help, and they truly changed for the better, and they went about their life trying to help people, I could forgive them, at the very least.

I’m not saying “Be nice to Child Molesters.” If someone commits a crime, they need to be punished for it.

What I’m saying is that people should have a little more understanding about why people do the things they do, instead of thinking “God that person is sick and should die” when what they did is something that, for a lot of people, they might just be one missed therapy session away from doing the same thing. Most people who commit a crime probably never thought that they would do that one day.

I don’t know. Maybe I’m just stupid and delusional. But I’ve lived with and known a Pedophile who is a good person and would never actually hurt a child, even given the chance. And I’ve overcome my own abuse. So, yeah. Take that how you will, I suppose.
